Every year the NFL creates a souvenir ticket of the game for media guests, VIP's, advertisers, etc. These tickets are exact replicas of the game day tickets except they use phantom section and/or seat locations. The section most widely used in the beginning was Z however some stadiums have a section Z in their layout so it can be quite confusing to determine if the ticket is a souvenir or genuine ticket. The term "block ticket" is also used regarding these souvenirs since they are put in lucite displays. The earlier games were done with a black lucite back and clear front the tickets had a piece of two-sided tape in the middle of the back to hold it in place in the holder. Later games had a thicker all clear lucite holder an adhesive spot at the top and bottom on the back of the ticket was used to hold them in place. Super Bowl IV and VIII did not sell out so some actual seat tickets were used in the holders, these tickets will normally have the paper loss from where the tape was on the back. These are considered genuine tickets and have been authenticated by PSA. Below are examples of the souvenir or "block tickets" and the seat locations used. If you have other seat locations of block or souvenir tickets that are not listed here, please send a scan to thepapertrader@verizon.net |
